An International Baccalaureate Candidate School

In June of 2012 Lakecrest was informed by the governing body of the International Baccalaureate Organization in Geneva, that the school has been officially granted IB World School Candidate Status. This indicates that the action plans and application information submitted by the school has been approved by the IB organization. These action plans contain details of our enrichment program and the continuing enhancement of teaching and learning at Lakecrest Independent School. Ongoing parent information sessions to further explain this program will be presented during the 2012-2013 school year.

Lakecrest is the first International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program Candidate School in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Lakecrest is governed by a Board of Directors elected from among the parents of the school and interested community members.
