Kids Got Talent, Lakecrest Open House and NL Kids Expo
Parents interested in helping in the Lakecrest booth at the NL Kids Expo are asked to please consider helping during one of the time s indicated below. We hope to have parents, students and teachers at the booth for each of the sessions. The Expo organization does provide name tags for hosts who have supplied their names prior to the Expo. Plans are also in place for an open house at Lakecrest on the Monday following the Expo.
Ambassador time slots for the two days are:
Saturday and Sunday (June 3 and 4)
If there are any parent/s who would be able to be Lakecrest ambassadors at this event please let me know by e-mail or sign up on the form posted outside the main office.
Thank you in advance to any parents who can help with this.
“Kids Got Talent” at the NL Kids Expo
“Milestone Promotions & Events is pleased to present the 2nd Annual NL Kids Got Talent Show – proudly sponsored by RE/MAX! This event will take place at the NL Kids & Family Expo on June 3rd at Techniplex in St. John’s. We are sending you this information in hopes that you might know some great potential performers and can help spread the word!
This is the second year for this competition and once again the winner will walk away with $1000 cash prize and an awesome trophy! No one will leave empty handed with there being a second prize awarded of $250, and every performer will receive a NL Kids Got Talent Swag bag of goodies! Last year, our performers and families had a great experience and encouraged us to continue this initiative.
This competition is open to kids between 8-12 as of June 3, 2017 and ALL talents are welcome! Last year we had singers, dancers, musicians and even a poet. Once again we will have a celebrity judging panel who are friendly and will be providing encouraging and positive feedback to the contestants.”

Lakecrest Yearbook Update – An update from the Yearbook Committee
A supplement for end of year events is available:
A yearbook supplement, containing information about events from the last few months of school, is available to order now! The events covered in the supplement will include: Public Speaking Night, Spring Sports (badminton, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, track and field, primary school baseball), The Little Mermaid Musical Production, Grade 9 Graduation, Kindergarten Graduation, Spring Concert, Grade 9 Lamonche trip, Sports Day, Athletic Awards Assembly, and Academic Awards Assembly. If you are leaving the school this year, we will mail out the supplements to you when they arrive in September. The cost of the supplement is only $10 US (and the deadline for ordering the supplement will be August 10th).
To order the supplement:
Log on to www.entourageyearbooks.com and type in “Lakecrest” under “Find your School” (top right hand corner).
Select the Lakecrest 2017 Supplement. You can use the login information you used to purchase the yearbook from this year.
If you have any questions about ordering, please contact Laura Broussard at email@example.com.
Yearbook Volunteers Needed:
We are looking for a few parent volunteers (ideally 2-3) to take charge of the yearbook for next year! The current staff is working on the supplement for May and June of this year, so it would be an ideal time to learn about what is involved and become familiar with the website that is used to design the layouts. If you think you may be interested, please contact Laura Broussard at: firstname.lastname@example.org or let Ms. Gillingham know and someone will be contacting you.
