Headmasters Bio Headmasters Bio Robert C. Pittman BSc, BEd, MSc, has thirty years of professional experience in Canadian and international schools. Having worked as a science teacher, department head, assistant principal and principal at Holy Heart High School in St. John’s, he has provided leadership in many aspects of the educational process. In addition to Canadian curriculum he has received approved administrative training and developed in schools Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate Diploma and International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programs. Recent employment with a large educational company in Beijing, China included the development of a blended Sino Canadian program in several Chinese bilingual schools. Mr. Pittman administered the program and provided an understanding of the Canadian curriculum implementation process and its practical application in an international environment. For the past six years he has been Head of School of the Canadian International School, an accredited kindergarten to grade twelve school in Tokyo, Japan. Other international school accreditations through the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS) have been successfully achieved. These have included detailed school evaluations and implementation of instructional and curriculum initiatives which have increased student success and academic achievement. Bob is also past president of the Rotary Club of Tokyo-Hiroo, and a current member of the Rotary Club of St. John’s, NL. |
