 Application Process Lakecrest is always seeking interesting students to add to its vibrant student body. Students are accepted at Lakecrest on the basis of past academic and social achievements, potential for future development; and the desire to be an active participant in student life at the school. Contact the Headmaster to arrange a convenient time to visit Lakecrest School. Class sizes are limited and it is suggested that early application be made. To begin the application process, please send us the completed Application Form and your child's two most recent report cards (except in the case of Kindergarten application) along with the $250 application fee which is non refundable. Once the application has been reviewed, parents are contacted. Where the school has determined that it can meet the needs of the child, the parents are offered a place in the appropriate class. When spaces are available we are able to accept new students during the school year. Students are accepted on the understanding that they will work diligently and achieve to their potential. While exceptional intellect is not a pre-requisite, students must be capable of meeting the requirements of the provincial curriculum without significant modifications to their individual programs. Lakecrest does not have personnel trained in special education, guidance counseling or educational psychology. With this in mind, the school does not profess to be able to meet the needs of students with serious learning or behavioral difficulties or disabilities. Also because many of our families are with national and international companies, we are accustomed to receiving mid year transfers. |
